New Members’ Classes are generally held twice each year. Visitors interested in joining the membership of Joint Heirs Fellowship Church are invited to attend a New Member’s Class.

This class gives individuals an opportunity to learn more about our doctrine, and our local church.  Attending the class does not obligate someone to join the church, but does provide persons with information to make a decision about membership.  The class, led by our Pastor, provides information about our foundational beliefs, and the governing structure of Joint Heirs Fellowship Church.

If a person desires to join the church after completing the New Member's class, the right hand of fellowship is extended at the ceremony for the official signing of the church role. A New Member's dinner follows the ceremony.

Why do we Worship God?   Worship is the expression of high respect and honor; intensive devotion and adoration. Psalms 95:6 - O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker. Psalms 98:1-4 - [[A Psalm.]] O sing unto the LORD a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory. The LORD hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen. He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise Psalms 99:5 - Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; [for] he [is] holy. Psalms 100:1–2 - [[A Psalm of praise.]] Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing Psalms 105:2 - Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works. Psalms 149:3-5 - Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation. Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds. John 4:24 - God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth I Corinthians 6:20 - For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Why do we clap our hands?   Clapping in any setting is an act of applauding someone for a good deed or act Psalms 47:1 - [[To the chief Musician, A Psalm for the sons of Korah.]] O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

Why do we have music?   Music is an important part of the worship service. Music shapes and prepares the mind for worship. It shapes the mood and atmosphere of any setting. Therefore, we are to play skillfully upon the instruments dedicated to the purpose of exalting our God. Psalms 33:2 - Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery [and] an instrument of ten strings. Psalms 43:4 - Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.

Why do we dance (shout)?   Dancing (Shouting) before God is an outward demonstration of an inward joy. II Samuel 6:15 - So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet. Ecclesiastes 3:4 - A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; Psalms 149:3 - Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. Psalms 150:4 - Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.

Why do we speak in tongues?   Speaking in tongues is the initial evidence of the filling of the Holy Ghost, and used in the operation of a spiritual gift. Isaiah 28:10-11 - For precept [must be] upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, [and] there a little: For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. Mark 16:17 - And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; Acts 2:4 - And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 10:44-46 - While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, Acts 19:1-6 - And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard [this], they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid [his] hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. I Corinthians 14:1-2 - Follow after charity, and desire spiritual [gifts], but rather that ye may prophesy. For he that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth [him]; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

Why do we tithe?   Tithing is giving God 1/10 back of what He has given to us (monetary). Genesis 14:18-20 - And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he [was] the priest of the most high God. And he blessed him, and said, Blessed [be] Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all. Genesis 28:18-22 - And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put [for] his pillows, and set it up [for] a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it. And he called the name of that place Bethel: but the name of that city [was called] Luz at the first. And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on, So that I come again to my father's house in peace; then shall the LORD be my God: And this stone, which I have set [for] a pillar, shall be God's house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee. Malachi 3:8-12 - Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Ye [are] cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, [even] this whole nation. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that [there shall] not [be room] enough [to receive it]. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts. And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts. II Corinthians 9:7 - Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, [so let him give]; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
